Personal Art

I've been constructing and selling jewelry for over a decade and here are some of my recent pieces. Heavily inspired by the antique charm necklace revival, all of the chains, charms and beads I use to construct my pieces are secondhand from relatives, antique stores, and my personal collection. In recent years I have enjoyed creating my new collection, Skeley charms. These are woven together with thread for stability, and it's been fun to try different combos for each charm.

My youngest brother, Wyatt, adores the story Alice in Wonderland and loves the 1999 film adaptation. He also has Autism, and part of his condition is his repetitive behaviors and interests. My family and I show our love and support for him by working together on projects including Halloween costumes, like the Chesire Cat mask I made out of paper mâché, a mural of the film and later on dolls that I colored using markets of all his favorite characters.

For prompt series I participated in this fall called "Bone Head", I had the opportunity to work with my animal bone collection I've spent a decade collecting. Bones include a cat vertebra, deer antlers, raccoon rib bones, hog teeth, various jaws. The faces are made from faux black leather. Always love playing with expressions and figuring out when the final look is just right.
